Job Purpose
Support the operational readiness and response capabilities of the Fire and Rescue Services by assisting in training, maintenance, and emergency response activities. Ensure compliance with established protocols and standards to maintain a high level of preparedness and operational efficiency. Facilitate effective communication and coordination among team members and departments and participate in continuous training and development to enhance personal skills and professional growth.
Position Accountability Description
Operational Excellence:
1. Assist in ensuring operational readiness for Fire, Rescue, Hazmat, and Medical Emergencies by supporting all aspects of training, communication, and maintenance management activities, and by participating in regular readiness assessments.
2. Monitor and control the operational activities related to emergencies, training, hazmat, communication, and maintenance management as per GACA regulations, ensuring that all protocols and procedures are
followed accurately.
3. Execute the operational plans developed by the FRS Maintenance and Training Teams, ensuring compliance with established procedures and standards, and providing feedback on any operational
challenges encountered.
4. Support immediate and coordinated responses to all medical and traumatic emergencies, including the treatment and evaluation of casualties, by following established response protocols and providing
necessary assistance.
Stakeholder Management:
5. Coordinate with DACO’s departments regarding Fire service operations to maintain the highest levels of fire safety and fire protection across all KFIA areas, facilitating effective communication and cooperation between departments.
6. Liaise with external emergency services to ensure coordinated response efforts and integrated emergency management strategies.
Maintenance and Sustainability:
7. Participate in the implementation and follow-up of maintenance activities for special response equipment, vehicles, fire station buildings, and communication devices to ensure their readiness and reliability for emergency situations.
8. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to ensure all equipment and facilities meet safety and operational standards.
Communication Management:
9. Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments, ensuring information is accurately conveyed and understood.

Record Keeping and Reporting:
10. Report any issues or breaches of safety and operational protocols to the FRS Maintenance & Training Team for further action, ensuring that all incidents are documented and addressed promptly.
11. Maintain accurate records of training activities, maintenance schedules, and emergency response actions to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
Compliance and Safety:
12. Ensure compliance with all relevant safety regulations and standards, conducting regular audits and risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
13. Promote a culture of safety within the team, encouraging adherence to safety protocols and proactive identification of risks.
Operational Efficiency:
14. Implement strategies to improve operational efficiency and response times, ensuring swift and effective action during emergency situations.
15. Participate in debriefing sessions after emergency responses to identify areas for improvement and implement necessary changes.
Training and Development:
16. Engage in continuous training and development activities to maintain a high level of preparedness and competence in emergency response operations, participating in drills and simulations to keep skills sharp and up-to-date.
17. Assist in the development and delivery of training programs for new recruits and existing team members, ensuring all personnel are adequately prepared for emergency situations.
Team Collaboration and Development:
18. Work collaboratively with team members by sharing knowledge, providing support, and actively participating in team activities, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
Minimum Job Requirements

Education Background |
Bachelor’s degree: Fire Protection Engineering or equivalent |

Relevant Experience |
Minimum of 3-4 years of experience in fire and rescue operations, emergency response, or a related field. |
| Professional Licenses, Accreditations & Certifications | Preferred: Certified Fire Protection Specialist (CFPS), Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification, or equivalent. |
