Job Purpose

Ensure the effective operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical backup systems across DACO’s airport infrastructure. Support the reliable performance of generators, UPS systems, batteries, and emergency lighting to ensure continuous operations during power outages and critical incidents.

Position Accountability Description

1. Key Responsibilities & Operational Oversight

2. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for electrical backup systems to align infrastructure with the airport’s operational goals.

3. Systems Oversight: Manage the daily operations of generators, UPS, batteries, and emergency lighting to ensure uninterrupted functionality during power outages.

4. Maintenance & Testing: Lead regular inspections, testing, and preventive maintenance schedules to ensure systems are always operationally ready and lifecycles are extended.

5. Performance Metrics: Establish and monitor KPIs to measure system effectiveness and drive continuous improvement in backup power reliability.

6. Installation & Commissioning: Oversee the installation of new backup units, ensuring they meet regulatory requirements and integrate seamlessly with the primary power supply.

7. Technical Troubleshooting: Direct repair activities and troubleshooting to ensure rapid response to malfunctions and minimize operational disruptions.

8. Critical Prioritization: Ensure that backup power for security, communications, and essential operational areas is prioritized and maintained to the highest standards.

9. Compliance & Safety: Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure full compliance with local and international electrical safety and environmental regulations.

10. Disaster Recovery: Develop and manage a comprehensive disaster recovery plan to ensure the rapid restoration of power during total system failures.
